Analysis

It promised to be a great race and it threw up a trio of future stars led home by Irish raider MIKAEL D'HAGUENET. Ruby Walsh always had the favourite in a great position and when long-time leader Quwetwo capitulated going down the hill, he swept to the front and galloped all the way to the line. Karabak, scrubbed along when the steady pace quickened into the straight, stayed on gamely for second and unbeaten Diamond Harry was also just caught for toe between the last two but took a fine third.
