Analysis

Richard Whitaker: "We thought he struggled in soft ground towards the end of last year, but he's a year older and a year stronger now and he obviously coped with it well today. It was quite close in the end, but George said he was just pulling himself up in front having been there for a while. We haven't over-raced him and we might go summer jumping with him now. We'll try and keep him away from fast ground and there might be a decent race in him. I don't have anything in mind at the moment. He's owned by my wife and I'm under no pressure to run him as she doesn't pay any bills!"
