John Gosden's Western Hymn, who met with the first defeat of his career in the Investec Derby at Epsom, returned to winning ways with a dominant display in the Prix Eugene Adam.

Six went to post for the mile and a quarter Group Two with Rod Millman's Master Carpenter also sent over after winning in France most recently.
As Western Hymn challenged down the centre of the track for William Buick, Christophe Lemaire challenged up the inside on Master Carpenter.
With Andre Fabre's Army Bulletin in the middle of the two British raiders, Western Hymn quickened impressively to readily put daylight between himself and the rest.
Army Bulletin was second, with Master Carpenter third.
Gosden was winning the race for a third time and last took the spoils with Debussy in 2009.
