Frankel's half-sister Joyeuse enjoyed the descent into Listed company to convincingly land the Betfred Mind Blowing Scoop6 Today EBF Stallions Stakes.

Lady Cecil's classy filly (3/1 favourite) banished memories of her chastening 1000 Guineas run, in which she finished 11th, to determinedly account for Irish challenger Gathering Power.

Joyeuse, ridden by Ryan Moore, galloped earnestly through a nice gap between German hope Gracia Directa and Gathering Power halfway along the home straight to collect by a length and a quarter.

Perfect Blessings finished third, but she was soundly beaten by another four and a half lengths, the field finishing spread out after a decent early pace in soft going.

Lady Cecil said: "She's by a sprinter out of a sprinter, so it's no surprise six furlongs suits her well.

"I'm delighted for everyone back at Warren Place as she's a bit of a quirky customer and takes a bit of handling.

"We'll speak to Teddy (Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah) and the Prince about plans, but we might stick at this sort of trip and this ground seems to suit her well."

Her assistant George Scott added: "We gave her the chance to stay a mile, but Teddy was always keen to come back sprinting if she didn't stay and it's worked out well.

"We've got options with her now, but I think we'll just go slowly now. She's a very quirky filly and she's not easy to train, but we've got a good team, a lot of thought goes into how to train her and it's paid off."
