Avenir Certain ran out the impressive winner of the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at Longchamp on Sunday - although she had to survive a lengthy stewards' enquiry.
The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained filly was unbeaten coming into the French 1000 Guineas and maintained her 100% percent record with a smooth length and a quarter victory at odds of 14/1.
The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained Veda was second with Francois Doumen's Xcellence a further two and a half lengths back in third.
J Wonder, who had won the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury for trainer Brian Meehan on her previous start, looked to be in with a big shout as the field turned for home but she was quickly swamped by the winner, who showed an impressive turn of foot.
The 4/1 favourite, Lesstalk In Paris, was unplaced.
Rouget said: "I was quite relaxed watching this race. When they came out of the bend I saw a spot of blue coming on the outside. At that moment I knew we would win.
"Lesstalk In Paris didn't really fire when the opening came. Maybe she didn't run her race."
Gregory Benoist, who rode Avenir Certain to success, said: "I was worried about the ground for her.
"But she produced a great turn of foot. She is as talented as she is courageous."
