Eton Forever stamped his class on the totepool EBF Stallions King Richard III Stakes at Leicester with a dominant display in the hands of Andrea Atzeni.

Roger Varian's five-time winner made just two appearances in 2013, winning a Listed prize at Haydock in May before a slightly below-par effort at the Merseyside track the following month, and he was a 7-2 chance on his first start in 322 days.

The blinkered Dubawi Sound set a good gallop from the outset and the strong-travelling Eton Forever was produced to challenge a furlong and half out.

Once hitting the front, the seven-year-old quickly engaged overdrive and was well on top as he passed the post with three lengths in hand.

Outsider Askaud ran a fine race to fill the runner-up spot, edging out 11-4 favourite Breton Rock.
