Flying Officer landed the totepool EBF Stallions Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes to give John Gosden and William Buick a treble at Nottingham.
Following victories for Fast Delivery and GM Hopkins earlier on the card, it was no surprise to see punters siding with Flying Officer in the feature event and he was backed into 11/4 joint-favouritism.
Buick was content to settle in the middle of the pack as High Jinx took them along, closely followed by Biographer and Earth Amber.
It was all change as the eight runners turned into the straight, with Earth Amber working her way to the front under Kieren Fallon.
Flying Officer made his move coming to the two-furlong pole, with Gabrial's King and Earth Amber still in the firing line, while Repeater travelled well in behind.
Buick forced his way to the front and his mount battled on well as Earth Amber came for another crack at the winner in the final stages.
There was only half a length between the front pair at the line, with fellow joint-favourite High Jinx staying on to claim third.
"I'm delighted with him. He's been off since June last year. He got hurt when he won that race (at Windsor), it's taken a long time to get him back, but he's done absolutely nothing wrong today," Gosden told Racing UK.
"There was no pace, but William was conscious about it and was in a position to do something about it.
"His brother won the St Leger so we know he stays well. Let's hope we can step him up to two miles now.
"I think the Henry II (at Sandown) well into May would be a nice gap for him."
