Sadly only four runners faced the starter for the £18500 contes,t and Edmund Kean was sent off a warm 10/11 favourite to gain his third success of the campaign.

Tom Scudamore could offer no excuses for the beaten favourite, saying: "He wasn't good enough on the day, no excuses."
