Zamdy Man (7/2) claimed the notable scalp of Un Temps Pour Tout in the Sky Bet Supreme Trial Novices' Hurdle.

David Pipe's Un Temps Pour had cost £450,000 at the sales after finishing third in a French Grade One but he could never quite get on terms with the Venetia Williams-trained five-year-old, who is now unbeaten in three races this season.

Aidan Coleman made sure it was a real test from some way out on Zamdy Man to find any chinks in the armour of the 11-8 favourite and he eventually won by a length and three-quarters.

Coleman said: "He's a massive horse so we were delighted with him last season, even though he didn't win.

"This year he's strengthened up and is getting better with each race.

"He'll definitely handle better ground and you'd have to say he's a Cheltenham horse now."

Pipe was not too despondent with the runner-up.

"He's run a cracker ," he said. "He handled the ground but didn't jump as neatly as we'd hoped. We'll see where we go next but he's definitely a Cheltenham horse, as is the winner."

The sponsors to cut him to 25/1 from 33s for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham in March.

Michael Shinners of Sky Bet said: "David Pipe's expensive purchase Un Temps Pour Tout was the real buzz horse coming into this but you can't fault Zamdy Man's attitude in the gruelling conditions.

"It was a game performance and they pulled well clear but it didn't scream Sky Bet Supreme winner to me and the ground is likely to be very different at Cheltenham in March."
