Duke Of Navan made it three wins from four starts with a stylish success over Any Given Day in the BetVictor Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso.

Held up at the back of the four runners for most of the way, Brian Harding eased his mount through to go past leader Any Given Day on the run to the final flight.

He briefly appeared to have fluffed his chance when failing to pick up as Harding appeared to hope over the last and putting in an extra half-stride.

But although Any Given Day was suddenly left disputing the advantage again, the 5/2 winner responded well when stoked up on the run-in and edged clear to win by two and a half lengths.

Trainer Nicky Richards said: "We'll just let the dust settle. He's in at Cheltenham, but we might give that a miss. The two-mile novice (Supreme) looks very hot.

"He'll probably go to Aintree I would imagine.

"He's a horse I want to develop. I think mentally and physically he's got a bit of developing still to do, so I don't see any benefit of going down to Cheltenham at the moment.

"We try to buy these type of horses and it's lovely when you get two nice ones like them."
