Tony McCoy had to sweat down to close to his lowest riding weight in order to make the 10-3 in the closing handicap hurdle and that hadn't escaped the betting public who had backed him down to favouritism during the morning.

Kings Lad threw down a strong challenge at the last but Mr Watson responded to his riders' urgings and readily saw off the eventual runner-up by four and a half lengths with a further two and a quarter back to Quaddick Lake in third.
It was a double on the card for the jockey following the earlier success of At Fishers Cross.
Winning trainer Jonjo O'Neill said: "He has been a lot better since we put a hood on him and changed his bit. It depends on what there is for him now, but he might get two and a half (miles)."
