Voler La Vedette had won the race last year and was put in at odds of 1/7 for the Grade 2 contest following the defection of likely second favourite, So Young, in the morning.
The eight-year-old was making her seasonal reappearance and was held up in rear in the early stages of the contest as Tom Doyle sent Whatuthink along at a steady pace.
The ten-year-old had been tailed off over fences just ten days earlier but he was certainly not lacking for fitness having won at Down Royal on the flat over 1m6f during the summer.
Doyle asked his mount to quicken as he booted him into the fourth last and addressed with him with whip at the next.

The winner plugging on gamely to gain a deserved victory by four-and-a-half lengths.
The pair were well clear of third-placed Prima Vista.
Winning trainer Oliver McKiernan said: "He has always had ability. We decided to go back over hurdles with him.
"It was a great performance by him but maybe fitness over the others was the key. He was tipping away all summer while the others were just starting out.
"He loves that ground and he kept going. He will go to Leopardstown now at Christmas and he might run before then.
"The plan was to make plenty of use of him and if they were good enough to go by him so be it."
