Barry McHugh set out to make all the running aboard the daughter of Dutch Art but was strongly pressed from the two furlong marker by Dank and treble-seeking Ryan Moore.

The 9-4 joint-favourite continued to challenge to the line but could never overhaul the winner who went on to score by half-a-length.

Fahey said: "We just wanted to get a Listed win with her, so that's done. I'm not sure what we'll do with her now, though.

"At Ascot (in the Sandringham Handicap) she was drawn on the wrong side, so that was that, and today we decided to make it a gallop because we knew she would stay."
