LOCHALSH finally came good at Ffos Las earlier in the month. Richard Hughes keeps the winning partnership intact and this looks no tougher despite a 7lb rise. Hallbeck and Tunnel Tiger are still looking for their first wins and the former has slipped down the weights but Roman Riches won on the Turf course at Lingfield in between modest efforts on the Polytrack. The remaining pair are harder to fancy.
Hallbeck 7-1 (8-13) Led 1f, prominent, ridden over 2f out, soon led, headed over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong, 5th of 9, 5l behind Sleeper (9-0) at Kempton 1m 4f flls hcp (0-70) (3yo+) (5) pol.
Dark Days 20-1 (8-8) In rear, pushed along over 4f out, headway over 3f out, faded inside final furlong, 7th of 11, 14l behind Deauville Dancer (9-2) at Nottingham 1m 6f 3yo hcp 0-70 (5) gf in Jul.
Tunnel Tiger (IRE) 6-1 (8-11) Chased leaders, kept on from over 1f out, faded inside final furlong, 5th of 13, 4l behind Shades of Silver (9-7) at Leicester 1m 2f hcp 0-60 (6) gd.
Roman Riches 4-1 (9-6) Behind, headway on outside over 3f out, pushed along and outpaced over 2f out, plugged on into moderate 3rd towards finish, 3rd of 8, 6l behind Ohio (8-8) at Lingfield 1m 5f 3yo hcp 0-65 (6) pol.
I Am Not Here (IRE) 40-1 (8-11) Held up mid-divison, ridden and weakened over 1f out, last of 11, 17l behind Petticoat Lane (9-5) at Salisbury 1m 2f hcp 0-70 (5) gf.
Lochalsh (IRE) 3-1 (8-12) Raced wide throughout and led this group, led overall over 2f out, edged right over 1f out, ridden and found extra when pressed inside final furlong, won at Ffos Las 1m 4f hcp 0-65 (6) gs beating Reach The Beach (8-11) by 1 1/2l, 6 ran.
