Ffos Las winner Scorched Son was due to run at Kempton yesterday, also under a penalty, but would have every chance if diverted here instead. The front-running Laterly is starting to come down the weights while Malanos is a C&D winner and effective on heavy ground, though lost his way badly earlier this year. BIN END won by nine lengths on soft ground over C&D earlier this month. He's only been raised 5lb for that and, though this is a bit more competitive, is probably the one to beat again with Luggers Hall out of form and Alwaystheoptimist returning from a year on the sidelines.
Scorched Son (IRE) 9-2 (11-12) Chased leaders, not fluent 2nd, led before 3 out, driven clear next, soon in command, eased near finish, won at Ffos Las 2m hcp hdl 0-125 (3) hvy beating Street Dance (11-2) by 18l, 7 ran.
Laterly (IRE) 5-2fav (10-12) Chased leaders, effort when hit 2 out, weakened last, 4th of 8, 7l behind Pas Trop Tard (11-0) at Wetherby 2m hcp hdl 0-130 (3) sft in Nov.

Alwaystheoptimist 12-1 (10-11) Tracked leaders, not fluent 3rd, every chance 3 out, stayed on, held by winner towards finish, 2nd of 11, 1 3/4l behind Grams And Ounces (11-3) at Ludlow 2m hcp hdl 0-115 (4) gs in Jan.
Bin End 5-4fav (10-11) Made all, left clear 2nd, pushed along 2 out, ran on, won at Leicester 2m hcp hdl 0-120 (4) sft beating Snake Charmer (11-10) by 9l, 5 ran.

Malanos (IRE) 25-1 (11-10) Tracked leaders, ridden and lost place before mistake 2 out (normal 3 out), soon well beaten, last of 10, 33l behind Open Day (11-2) at Leicester 2m hcp hdl 0-125 (3) sft in Nov.
