JUDICIAL would have entered many a notebook as a surefire maiden winner on the strength of his debut second to the talented Strath Burn at Newbury, and even more so when his conqueror went on to finish a close second to Kool Company in the Prix Robert Papin. The selection was beaten a comfortable three lengths but was no less than five lengths clear of his nearest pursuer back in third. Roger Charlton appears to have identified a gilt-edged opportunity and he should go one better before stepping up in grade. Henley has shaped well on both starts for a yard currently going well and his York third behind Maljaa affords him main danger status. Hatchet Harry, a fair Newmarket fourth on debut, is next best.
Judicial (IRE) 16-1 (9-5) Tracked leaders, switched left and ridden over 1f out, went 2nd soon after, stayed on, no impression on winner, 2nd of 9, 3l behind Strath Burn (9-5) at Newbury 5f 2yo mdn (4) gd.
Hatchet Harry (IRE) 16-1 (9-5) Close up, driven and every chance over 2f out, one pace 1f out, no extra well inside final furlong, 4th of 8, 6l behind Inniscastle Lad (9-5) at Nottingham 6f 2yo mdn (5) gf.
Henley 13-2 (9-5) Towards rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, kept on final furlong, 3rd of 7, 1 3/4l behind Maljaa (9-5) at York 5f 2yo mdn (3) gf.

Majenski (IRE) 50-1 (8-13) Went free to post, led and raced keenly, ridden and headed over 2f out, weakened rapidly over 1f out, tailed off, last of 10, 28l behind Bazzana (8-6) at Windsor 6f 2yo mdn aut (5) sft in May.
