NEWTOWN CROSS downed tools in soft ground at Chepstow last time but had been winning on the all-weather before that. A victory over course and distance was followed by a win at Lingfield and he's only 3lb higher back on this surface so should go in again. Arashi is closely matched with the latter on running at this track and should be in the mix once again while Montjess is another usually thereabouts in similar contests. Bramshill Lass is capable of getting involved on her day and beat Jezza over track and trip in October and Guards Chapel at Lingfield more recently.
Guards Chapel 3-1 (9-7) Held up towards rear, headway and hung right from over 1f out, 5th and no threat inside final furlong, 5th of 10, 6l behind Ordensritter (9-11) at Kempton 2m hacp 0-70 (5) pol in Mar.
Arashi 7-1 (8-13) Held up towards rear, ridden over 2f out, never dangerous, 9th of 11, 13l behind Naburn (9-4) at Catterick 1m 6f hcp 0-75 (5) sft in Apr.
Jezza 33-1 (8-13) Very slowly away in rear, headway over 2f out, ridden and no impression from over 1f out, 7th of 14, 12l behind Bob's World (9-1) at Newbury 2m hcp 0-80 (4) gs in Apr.
Money Talks 66-1 (9-0) Tracked leader, hard ridden 4f out, weakened over 3f out, eased, last of 8, 48l behind Duchess Of Gazeley (8-8) at Lingfield 1m 4f 3yo hcp 0-75 (5) pol in Jul.
Montjess (IRE) 12-1 (9-7) Close up, pushed along 7f out, ridden over 3f out, outpaced 2f out, driven and ran on to go 2nd inside final furlong, no threat to winner, 2nd of 11, 2 1/2l behind Arty Campbell (9-7) at Kempton 2m hacp 0-70 (5) pol in Mar.
