Most of theses arrive in good form and it's a tight little handicap. GALIZZI is given the nod as he dropped into this class at Newmarket and did everything but beat Emarahldz, who was receiving 12lb. Asteroidea won a Ripon handicap at this level then led for most of the way in better company at Pontefract. Sir Charles Kunz, a winner at Wolverhampton in January, was having his first subsequent start at Beverley a fortnight ago and ran well enough to suggest he'll be scoring again soon. Indira is in tremendous form but takes a slight step up in class and is 5lb higher than her recent Ripon victory. Stanarley Pic has been staying on over 1m2f so should find this to his liking but Mendalita appeared to enjoy the soft ground at Carlisle and, unless the rain arrives, may find this on the quick side.
Asteroidea 9-2 (8-12) Led, quickened 2 lengths clear 2f out, ridden and headed inside final furlong, eased when beaten near finish, 2nd of 8, 3l behind Aramist (9-7) at Pontefract 1m 4f hcp 0-90 (3) gd.
Galizzi (USA) 7-2 (9-1) In touch, ridden and headway over 2f out, pressed winner from over 1f out, not quicken near finish, 2nd of 6, nk behind Emerahldz (8-3) at Newmarket 1m 4f hcp 0-85 (4) gs.
Indira 9-4fav (9-6) Tracked leaders, switched left to challenge over 2f out, led over 1f out, challenged closing stages, held on gamely, won at Ripon 1m 4f 3yo hcp 0-75 (5) gd beating Mighty Missile (8-8) by hd, 6 ran.
Mendelita 8-1 (8-9) Made most, hard pressed over 3f out, soon driven, ridden and stayed on well under pressure final furlong, won at Carlisle 1m 3f hcp 0-70 (5) sft beating Mambo Rhythm (9-1) by 1/2l, 8 ran.
Stanarley Pic 11-4fav (8-13) In rear, effort over 2f out, headway over 1f out, ridden inside final furlong, went 2nd towards finish, held near finish, 2nd of 7, 3/4l behind Mantou (9-7) at Newcastle 1m 2f 3yo hcp 0-75 (5) gs.
Rising Breeze 14-1 (8-12) Started very slowly, in rear, never involved, 7th of 10, 14l behind Trip To Paris (9-7) at Ascot 1m 4f 3yo hcp 0-85 (4) gd in Jul.
Sir Charlie Kunz 4-1 (9-1) Chased leader, ridden to lead over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, no extra and lost 2nd place towards finish, 3rd of 8, 3/4l behind Sophisticated Heir (9-9) at Beverley 1m 2f hcp 0-85 (4) gs.
