Knavery (2/1), Moohaarib (3/1), Nonno Giulio (4/1), Regiment (9/2), Championship (7/1), Scrutiny (33/1)
This is a really tricky puzzle to solve, though Scrutiny hasn't pulled up many trees this year. Knavery won on his debut at Kempton and could be anything, though the handicapper hasn't taken any chances. Championship tackled pattern company last year while Regiment has been in good form, though this will be his first try over 1m. Moohaarib had little to beat in a Ripon maiden at the start of the month and will find this a much tougher test. NONNO GIULIO has yet to encounter a surface this fast but there's no reason why he won't handle conditions and a repeat of his latest third at Haydock gives him every chance of a first success since arriving from Italy. He's preferred to stablemate Zerfaal, who ran a shocker at Newmarket last time.
Zerfaal 7-2fav (9-2) Always towards rear, 10th of 11, 33l behind Muteela (9-4) at Newmarket 1m 3yo hcp 0-90 (3) gd in May.
Moohaarib (IRE) 1-2fav (9-5) Tracked leaders, headway over 3f out, led over 2f out, clear when edged right towards far side rail over 1f out, ran on, easily, won at Ripon 1m 3yo mdn (5) gd beating Gang Warfare (9-5) by 2 3/4l, 7 ran.
Championship (IRE) 25-1 (9-7) Held up in rear, headway on inside over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, went 3rd close home, nearest finish, 3rd of 10, 5l behind Idea (8-11) at Kempton 7f 3yo hcp 0-90 (3) pol.
Knavery (USA) 6-1 (9-3) Tracked clear leading pair, closed 3f out, went 2nd well over 1f out, soon edged right, led over 1f out, ran on strongly, won at Kempton 7f mdn stks (5) pol in May beating Amber Isle (8-12) by 3 1/2l, 14 ran.
Nonno Giulio (IRE) 25-1 (9-7) In touch, ridden when switched right over 1f out, stayed on to go 3rd inside final furlong, not trouble leaders, 3rd of 7, 2l behind Beach Bar (9-4) at Haydock 1m 3yo hcp 0-90 (3) sft.
Regiment 3-1 (9-4) Tracked leaders in 3rd, led 1f out, kept on well, won at Haydock 7f 3yo hcp 0-85 (4) gs beating Proclamationofwar (8-5) by 2 1/4l, 7 ran.
Scrutiny 5-1 (9-4) Soon led, ridden and headed over 3f out, weakened over 1f out, last of 7, 29l behind Azagal (9-5) at Doncaster 7f 3yo hcp 0-105 (2) gs in May.
