Verdict

A very tough one to call but Happy New Year will attract support as he bids for a four-timer, though he's been put up another 8lb for his victory at Punchestown. He's very tough and should get into the mix though he now looks vulnerable off his new mark as does Dactik, who completed a Fairyhouse double before beaten from today's mark on his hat-trick attempt. BLAZING SONNET has been unfortunate to come up against a couple of in-form rivals in her two recent races and hasn't been beaten far. She's a progressive type and just gets the vote though connections won't be too pleased with being raised 7lb. Force Of Habit has only run three times over timber and looks the type to do better but The Boys Dont Know appeared anchored by his extra weight when fancied at Cork last time.
