NORSE LIGHT only gave best close home when third to Second Step at Newbury last month. The fourth, Kings Fete, won at Sandown just over a week ago so the form has a solid look about it and he has more scope than Mabdhool, only beaten a length in a handicap on the Polytrack earlier this month but pretty much exposed. Cape Victoria is from the same family as the smart Passing Glance and could easily take a hand in the finish as En Reve and Magic Magnolia appear to have little to recommend them.
En Reve 66-1 (9-0) Held up in last pair, ridden and struggling 3f out, never a factor, 10th of 12, 20l behind Bright Approach (9-0) at Newbury 1m 2f mdn fll stks (4) gs in Apr.
Mabdhool (IRE) 8-1 (9-3) Towards rear, headway 7f out, close up, effort 2f out, kept on one pace inside final furlong, 4th of 13, 3/4l behind Starlit Cantata (9-5) at Lingfield 1m 2f 3yo hcp 0-70 (5) pol.
Norse Light 33-1 (9-5) Slowly into stride, soon pushed along to lead and set steady pace, narrowly headed over 2f out, chased leader until shaken up entering final 2f, chased leaders, went 2nd again inside final furlong, held when lost 2nd post, 3rd of 14, 3/4l behind Second Step (9-5) at Newbury 1m 2f 3yo mdn (5) gs in May.
Cape Victoria Mount Nelson filly out of Victoria Montoya.
Magic Magnolia (IRE) 20-1 (9-0) Rear, ridden over 3f out, no extra, eased straight, tailed off, last of 8, 46l behind I'll Be Your Clown (9-5) at Sligo 1m 2f 3yo mdn in May.
