SILVER TASSIE has been a costly failure on his two starts to date though there were genuine excuses for his defeat at Down Royal last time as the pace of the race was pedestrian to say the least. He's more of a staying type so today's longer trip and testing ground should play to his strengths. He's handed the vote though Defy Logic looks a big threat. Paul Nolan's charge made a very satisfactory racecourse debut behind Sizing Gold at Navan in February though it's a bit surprising to see him equipped with blinkers here. Lots Of Memories also made a fine start to his career when only just failing to hold King Of Firth at Galway. That was a fine effort and with further progress virtually guaranteed he has to be in the shake-up. Our Mamie caught the eye with a promising debut at Down Royal and is another to keep an eye on in an interesting bumper.
Defy Logic (IRE) 9-4 (11-13) Held up in rear at slow pace, pulled way up to be prominent from 6f out, in front approaching straight, pressed and joined approaching final furlong, headed inside last and kept on without matching winner, 2nd of 11, 1 1/2l behind Sizing Gold (11-8) at Navan 2m N H flat sft in Feb.
Lots Of Memories (IRE) 14-1 (11-11) Mid-division, headway into 4th 3f out, improved to challenge 2f out, ridden and pressed leader entering straight, kept on, just held, 2nd of 9, 1/2l behind King Of Firth (12-0) at Galway 2m N H flat in Oct.
King Shabra (IRE) 33-1 (11-4) Chased leaders in moderate 2nd, ridden and no extra 4f out, 4th and weakened from 3f out, 4th of 5, 25l behind Champagne James (11-11) at Navan 2m N H flat.
Some Drama (IRE) 10-1 (11-7) Prominent, chased leader 2f out, dropped to 3rd and no impression 1f out, kept on same pace, 3rd of 19, 14l behind Kilbarry Beauty (11-7) at Cork 2m 2f N H flat in Apr.
Silver Tassie (IRE) 7-4fav (11-11) Tracked leaders at ordinary pace, 4th halfway, struggling to get to winner from 2f out, kept on same pace, 2nd of 18, 6l behind Gilt Shadow (11-8) at Down Royal 2m N H flat gs.
