Half of this field won last-time out so this is no easy puzzle to solve. Basil Fawlty only just scraped home at Worcester and may be undone by a penalty and Glen Countess may not have beaten much at Cartmel but Foot The Bill arrives off the back of a course victory and Halucha certainly has the size to make a chaser, though has only had one run over the larger obstacles so far. Maid Of Silk responded to the step up in distance last time but Terfel's Oscar still has some questions to answer and Dukeofchesterwood lacks a bit of scope. MINELLA FIFTY looked to be getting his act together at Ffos Las last time and a little further improvement could see him go one better here.
Basil Fawlty (IRE) 4-1 (11-6) Held up in rear, headway 5 out, went 2nd before 4 out, led 3 out, headed 2 out, led last, pressed and edged right run-in, just held on close home, won at Worcester 2m 7f hcp ch 0-110 (4) gd beating My Mate Vinnie (11-10) by hd, 9 ran.
Maid Of Silk (IRE) 16-1 (11-7) Mid-division, headway 3rd, mistake 5th, went 2nd 3 out, every chance last, no impression on winner and dropped to 3rd final 100 yards, no extra, 3rd of 16, 2 3/4l behind Royale Knight (11-2) at Worcester 2m 7f hcp chs 0-95 (5) gd in May.
Glen Countess (IRE) 3-1 (11-1) Tracked leader, challenged 5th, not fluent 9th, led after last, stayed on well, won at Cartmel 2m 5f hcp chs 0-105 (4) gf in May beating Peak Seasons (9-7) by 3/4l, 6 ran.
Foot The Bill 9-1 (11-4) In rear, headway 7 out, went 2nd before 3 out, led before and not fluent 2 out, kept on, won at Market Rasen 3m 1f hcp chs 0-100 (5) gd in May beating Ifonlyalfie (11-4) by 3 1/2l, 8 ran.
Dukeofchesterwood 5-1 (11-1) Prominent, outpaced by leaders 4 out, stayed on same pace from 2 out, 5th of 10, 4l behind Solway Dornal (9-7) at Cartmel 3m 2f hcp chs 0-95 (5) gf in May.
Halucha (IRE) 7-1 (10-13) Tracked leaders, led 3 out, clear before 2 out, kept on well, won at Towcester 3m hcp hdl 0-100 (5) gs in May beating Music In The Air (10-0) by 6l, 12 ran.
Minella Fifty (IRE) 16-1 (11-10) Led from 1st, headed before 4 out, remained close up, led narrowly before last, mistake and soon headd, kept on and held towards finish, 2nd of 9, 2 1/2l behind Fairwood Massini (11-5) at Ffos Las 3m 5yo nov hcp (4) gd.
Terfel's Toscar (IRE) 8-1 (11-12) Always behind, tailed off when pulled up before 5 out, in a race won by Oddjob (11-6) at Chepstow 3m hcp chs 0-100 (5) gd in Apr, 14 ran.
