Verdict
CLASHNABROOK came good at this time a year ago and has hit a similar rich vein of form. Runner-up to the very well handicapped Colbert Station over hurdles at Punchestown at the beginning of the month, he battled to victory over a trip short of his best back over fences last week and a penalty shouldn't prevent a quick follow-up. Mazuri Cowboy won a beginners' chase at Limerick in December and has since performed with credit over hurdles so he has to be considered along with the novice Stony Grey Soil, who was feeling the pinch when falling at the last in the race won by Immediate Response at Limerick. Wilde Wit Pleasure won a handicap over today's trip at Cork then found 2m1f too short on his next start while it's intriguing to see the once high-class hurdler Franchoek, runner-up to Celestial Halo in the 2008 Triumph Hurdle, returning after a break of almost three years.
