Verdict
VELOCE is the youngest in the line-up and has the most scope so should make a winning handicap debut. Donald McCain's charge won three times on the Flat last year and made a very promising start over hurdles behind the smart Poet at Newbury. He was then surprisingly beaten at long odds-on at Musselburgh before landing a maiden at Ayr and with track and trip likely to suit he's the one to be on. Renoyr has done well for Malcolm Jefferson since arriving from Ireland scoring easily at Doncaster and running reasonably well after a 10lb rise at Wetherby. He could have done without another 3lb extra but is still likely to get into the mix along with Fleet Dawn, though the latter needs to prove he acts on testing ground. The latter's stablemate Yesyoucan has no such problems with the conditions and looks a major threat as he landed a much better race than this at Haydock in November before making a few mistakes on a return visit the following month.
