Considering her form in Group and Listed company last season, it's a surprise that CHICAGO GIRL is still a maiden. She dropped into this sort of company at Naas last time and started favourite but didn't enjoy the best of runs and could only finish third. She won't get many better chances than this so has to be the selection. Diylawa has performed at a similar level to this without looking as though she would be winning soon and may have to wait for a handicap while Ceylon has looked a bit one-paced and may need further. Sierra Sun finished in front of Diylawa at Fairyhouse in May and hasn't been seen subsequently. She has a smart middle-distance pedigree and looks the one to benefit if the likely favourite doesn't come up to scratch again.
Diylawa (IRE) 2-1fav (9-0) Soon disputed lead, narrowly headed from under 2f out, no impression inside final furlong, soon one pace in 3rd, 3rd of 11, 2 3/4l behind Circling (9-0) at Fairyhouse 1m 2f 3yo fll stks in May.
Sierra Sun (IRE) 11-2 (9-0) Rear of mid-division, 7th before straight, went moderate 3rd over 1f out, stayed on well under pressure final furlong, not quite get to winner, 2nd of 11, hd behind Circling (9-0) at Fairyhouse 1m 2f 3yo fll stks in May.
Nanamour (IRE) 50-1 (8-11) Always behind, ridden and no impression from 3f out, never a factor, 7th of 9, 15l behind Sea The Lion (9-5) at Curragh 1m 2f mdn stks gf in Jul.
Ceylon (IRE) 7-1 (9-0) Prominent, took keen hold, mainly 2nd, no impression from 2f out, no extra when short of room inside final furlong, 4th of 9, 6l behind Apache Trooper (9-2) at Roscommon 1m 2f 3yo mdn aut in Jun.
Chicago Girl (IRE) 7-4fav (9-0) Tracked leaders, short of room in 5th 2f out, ridden and no impression 1f out, kept on one pace to go 3rd close home, 3rd of 13, 5l behind Newton's Night (9-0) at Naas 1m fll mdn stks.
