Three-year-olds have won 10 of the last 11 renewals so it's probably safe to put a line through older mares Boastful and Switcher while Irish raider Bethany Bay looks to have a mountain to climb at the weights. Nargys appears to be going backwards but Annecdote goes from strength-to-strength, beating WINNING EXPRESS, The Gold Cheongsam and Nargys in this grade at Goodwood last month. Ed McMahon's filly enjoys a 3lb turnaround in the weights with Jonny Portman's charge, however, and that should be enough to take revenge for her three-quarters-of-a-length defeat at the Sussex track. She gets the nod though Maureen has her sights lowered and will be a danger, despite a penalty. She makes much more appeal than stablemate Zurigha and Ghasabah.
Ghasabah 4-1fav (8-9) Half reared start, soon in mid-division on inside, not clear run on rail from well over 1f out until inside final furlong, ran on strongly and finished well to 3rd close home, 3rd of 15, 3/4l behind Dutch Rose (9-7) at York 7f fll hcp (2) gf in Aug.
The Gold Cheongsam (IRE) 8-1 (8-10) Chased leaders, every chance over 1f out, stayed on same pace final furlong, 4th of 14, 2l behind Annecdote (8-10) at Goodwood 7f flls Group 3 stks (1) gd in Aug.

Switcher (IRE) 12-1 (8-9) Tracked leaders, effort over 2f out, soon ridden, kept on same pace, no extra in clear 3rd inside final furlong, 3rd of 6, 2l behind Sirius Prospect (9-0) at York 7f Listed stks 3yo (1) sft in Aug.
Winning Express (IRE) 2-1fav (8-10) Tracked leader, ridden to lead over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, kept on well, 2nd of 14, 3/4l behind Annecdote (8-10) at Goodwood 7f flls Group 3 stks (1) gd in Aug.
