Verdict

UPTON MEAD scored from out of the handicap here and showed it was no fluke when defying a 5lb rise at Fontwell last week. His 7lb penalty is taken care of by Conor Shoemark's claim and another victory looks on the cards. Callhimwhatyouwant is a three-times winner between the flags but has shown nothing under Rules and was tailed off when third at Ffos Las last month. Shropshirelass has won over hurdles on this track but is still a maiden over fences and would appreciate quicker ground. Quinte du Chatelet was rated 125 over hurdles at one stage but hasn't been running well over timber or fences for some time and, though he's dropped into a lowly grade and now blinkered, it's difficult to side with him until showing signs of a revival.
