In depth
Verdict
LOVCEN has the potential to go to the top over fences and it's about time he was showing it. A very good fourth in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival, he then beat Fingal Bay in the Grade 1 Sefton Novices' Hurdle at Aintree. He's shown little in his three runs this season, including behind Dynaste in the Feltham at Kempton on his chasing debut, but there should be much more to come. Minella Class defied mistakes to score at Ascot in November but couldn't get away with it at Lingfield where he fell heavily. Same Difference has been placed at Grade 2 level over timber but hasn't quite hit the heights over fences unlike Wiesentraum, who defied a long absence and a huge SP to make a winning start over fences at Doncaster.
