Veiled Intrigue made a promising reappearance in a Group 3 at Lingfield in May and should strip fitter here. Radiator was far from disgraced in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot having just been touched off at York earlier and John Gosden wouldn't be running Salisbury maiden winner Belle D'Or in this if he didn't fancy her chances - she still holds an entry in next week's Falmouth Stakes. QUEEN CATRINE would have won the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot in another stride having met trouble in-running. She easily holds Wee Jean and Crowley's Law on that run and can gain compensation in this.
Belle D'or (USA) 5-6fav (9-0) Took keen hold early, tracking leaders, still green and edged left inside final 2f, led over 1f out, shaken up inside final furlong, came clear final 100 yards, easily, won at Salisbury 1m mdn fll stks (5) gf in Jun beating Makruma (9-0) by 4 1/2l, 8 ran.
Wee Jean 16-1 (8-11) Held up towards rear near side, headway over 2f out, not clear run and switched right 2f out, hard ridden over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, went 3rd close home, 3rd of 24, 3/4l behind Muteela (8-13) at Royal Ascot 1m 3yo Listed hcp (1) gf in Jun.
Crowley's Law 13-2 (9-2) Took keen hold, chased leaders in centre, hard ridden over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, 11th of 24, 6l behind Muteela (8-13) at Royal Ascot 1m 3yo Listed hcp (1) gf in Jun.
Veiled Intrigue 33-1 (8-6) Pushed along in rear, switched to centre over 2f out, ridden and headway approaching final furlong, stayed on to go 2nd near finish, 2nd of 10, 1 1/2l behind Emerald Star (8-6) at Lingfield 7f fll stks G3 (1) gd in May.
Queen Catrine (IRE) 14-1 (9-6) Held up and behind, headway on outside over 1f out, went strong run final 100 yards, went 2nd close home and finished strongly, just failed, 2nd of 24, shd behind Muteela (8-13) at Royal Ascot 1m 3yo Listed hcp (1) gf in Jun.
Radiator 16-1 (9-0) Towards rear, ridden over 2f out, never nearer, 8th of 12, 3 1/2l behind Rizeena (9-0) at Royal Ascot 1m 3yo Fll Grp 1 (1) gf in Jun.
