Verdict

The Young Master didn't show a great deal prior to his third at Fontwell and may have been flattered by that result. Strathcal would have a chance on his best form while Freckle Face ran well behind the prolific Home Run at Exeter and is only a pound higher here. Witchesintune and Union Saint are others for the short-list but the lightly-raced CONIGRE doesn't look badly treated in his first handicap and ran as well as could be expected at Kempton in November following a break. He's possibly the one to beat on last year's form.
