A field of seven has been declared for the £19,000 32Red Handicap over just short of a mile and six furlongs at Wolverhampton on Saturday, December 7, the first of a pair of class two contests on the card.

The line up is headed by Kazlian, who will be having his first start for Johnny Farrelly after leaving David Pipe. The five-year-old was last seen finishing third in the Imperial Cup over hurdles at Sandown in March, but boasts some smart Flat form in France having finish second in a Listed race for Jean-Claude Rouget in March, 2011.

French form is also brought to the table by the Seamus Durack-trained Litigant, who won twice at Maisons-Laffitte in 2011 when in the care of Andre Fabre. The lightly-raced five-year-old has only had once start since, finishing second on his debut for Durack in a competitive 11-furlong handicap at Kempton Park on Polytrack on November 21.

Durack commented: "Litigant seems OK after his run at Kempton. Obviously, it was his first run for two and a half years but I thought it was a promising effort.

"He won over a mile and a quarter and a mile and six furlongs in France, so the trip shouldn't be a problem.

"The bounce factor is obviously an issue and you wouldn't know until the race is over, but he seems OK at home.

"We have talked about going hurdling with him, but I am not sure what is going to happen. We will see how he performs on Saturday and probably make a decision after that."

Litigant's rivals also include the Ian Williams-trained pair of Incendo and Swinging Hawk, a winner over hurdles at Newbury recently, and course and distance victor Gabrial's King.

Gabrial's Hope and Kiama Bay complete the septet.

The other highlight at Wolverhampton on Saturday is the £14,000 32Red.com Nursery Handicap (8.50pm) over six furlongs. Nine two-year-olds are set to go to post, headed by course and distance scorers Pound Piece and Porteous, and impressive debut scorer Distant Past.
