Jamie Spencer has given up his rides at Goodwood on Thursday after damaging his foot in a fall at Leicester.
He sustained the injury when unseated from Biaraafa on the way to the start for the opening EBF Swithland Median Auction Maiden Fillies' Stakes on Wednesday evening.
He steered that horse into third place and filled the same spot on Silver Symphony in the following race before being stood down by the racecourse doctor for the rest of the meeting and missing a winner in the process.
As his foot was swollen this morning, he has decided to have the injury X-rayed.
"He said it was swollen up a bit so he's gone for an X-ray on it. It could be his little toe," said Spencer's agent David Harrison.
"I don't think it's very serious but he's gone for the X-ray just to double check.
"He'll probably have it on ice today and fingers crossed he'll be all right for Friday."
