Henrietta Knight expects Calgary Bay to be a different proposition this season.
A smart novice hurdler, he took to fences extremely well last term and was ante-post favourite for the Arkle for much of the spring.
He found things happening a bit too quickly at the Festival but Knight reports him to have thrived during the summer.
The six-year-old holds an entry in the Hennessy Gold Cup but is more likely to head to Haydock on Betfair Chase day, November 21.
"Calgary Bay is very well. He's very much stronger than last year," said Knight.
"We'll look at the Hennessy Gold Cup, he's got an entry but he's more likely to go for a handicap chase, there is one at Haydock for him in round about three weeks.
"He's only six, going on seven, so he has plenty of time on his side and he looks much stronger this year."
