Ed McMahon is hoping Astrophysical Jet can prove up to the task in the Lotus Evora Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Dubawi filly graduates to Group Two company after showing plenty of promise in her two starts so far.
After making a winning debut at Nottingham in August, she was third to possible Rockfel rival Distinctive in the Group Three Firth of Clyde Stakes at Ayr last month.
"We had to make a little use of her there, which was the only downside, but she acquitted herself very well," said Lichfield trainer McMahon.
"The extra furlong shouldn't inconvenience her. A bit of liquid on the ground wouldn't hurt either.
"Michael Prosser (clerk of the course) said if it didn't rain he was going to apply one to three millimetres of water which would just take the sting out of it.
"It's an interesting race. I think everyone's got Sir Michael Stoute's horse (Tabassum) to beat, but she's there to prove a point.
"We've got to cut her cloth. If we are going to go for anything big next year we want to know how good she is this year."
