John Oxx has played down the forecast of thundery showers ahead of the Coral-Eclipse.
The trainer intends to run his 2000 Guineas and Investec Derby winner Sea The Stars in the ten furlong showpiece.
The son of Cape Cross swerved the Irish Derby at the weekend because of the soft ground but does not expect to be faced with a similar decision on Saturday.
"It's not the same situation, it's pretty fast ground at Sandown at the minute and though there is a chance of rain there on Friday we'll have to see what happens," he told sportinglife.com.
"At the moment it's very hot and they could get a thundery shower I suppose and we will monitor it, but it's not the same situation as last week as there's not a lot of moisture in the ground to begin with - the Curragh ground was always likely to change quickly."
Sea The Stars is currently trading at 11/10 on Betfair, with punters seemingly concerned by the prospect of rain.
Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin commented: "Backers are reluctant to get involved on the horse at this stage, but the layers are happy to take their chances with Sea The Stars.
"He will probably be 8-11 on Saturday, but he has to get there first."
