A win fund of almost £3million could be on the cards when the Scoop6 rolls over to an 11th week on Saturday but the Betfair Chase - featuring Kauto Star - is "unlikely" to be one of the six races featured.
Following last weekend's pot, the win fund will start on £2,037,527 with a bonus of £904,426 after a total of £2,098,546 was taken by the Tote.
With the interest expected to be even higher it is possible the Scoop6 could compete with the Lotto.
"We are looking at a combined total fund of between four and five million, and maybe close to £3million for the win fund," said totesport spokesman Damian Walker.
"If we get the same amount of money as last week we'll be over £4million and we hope to take more than that.
"Hopefully those who had a bet on it for the first time will want another crack at it and the big-staking players won't want to leave their money behind. I'd be surprised if it went beyond this week."
Although the six legs of the bet have yet to be finalised it is planned they will all be shown live on terrestrial television.
"We're looking at four meetings - Lingfield, Huntingdon, Haydock and Ascot. Those are the meetings covered by Channel 4 and the BBC on Saturday," Walker went on.
"The Huntingdon races look slightly disappointing at this stage. We are sponsoring the whole meeting there, so we are going to see what we can do to make it more competitive. We will have a good look on Tuesday at the other races on that card and see what can be done.
"The idea is that with such a big rollover we want to make it a terrestrial TV Scoop6 as everyone's got access to that. We want everybody to see them.
"The hurdle race at Haydock has been reopened and the Betfair Chase has only got seven entries with an odds-on favourite in Kauto Star, so it's highly unlikely that either of those two races will be included.
"The idea is to make it winnable but competitive and those two races don't come into either category.
"We also want to have as late a start time as we can. The first race in the Scoop6 on Saturday was two o'clock which was perfect.
"We have looked at the possibility of swapping the 1.05 fixed brush hurdle race at Haydock with the re-opened hurdle but unfortunately with the portable fences there it can't be done."
