Sky Bet are refunding all losing win single stakes on Alexanderthegreat after the controversial Irish Times Amateur Riders' Handicap Chase at Cheltenham.

Venetia Williams' charge finished second to Hoopy but Ian Chanin, aboard the runner-up, objected to the rider of King Harald, Donal Devereux, for handing his whip to Hoopy's jockey Jason McKeown.

The placings remained unaltered after a lengthy stewards' enquiry but the Harrogate-based firm will ensure their punters who backed Alexanderthegreat don't lose out in such controversial circumstances.
