The £2million totescoop6 November Handicap is the feature race on Saturday and traditionally the last big race of the Turf Flat season. It was won by a three-year-old grey last year in Malt Or Mash and I expect lightning to strike twice.
Down at the bottom of the weights Electrolyser is another progressive three-year-old grey, who was a winner of what looked to be a very competitive handicap at Leicester last time, getting the better of some other progressive sorts.
He won very decisively there in similar conditions to what he's going to encounter on Town Moor. He is a very interesting runner and my selection under Steve Drowne.
At the other end of the weights Presvis represents Luca Cumani who is always feared in these major handicaps.
This four-year-old is improving all the time and could be a Listed or Group horse next season. He ran away with a good race at Newbury last time but has shot up in the handicap as a result and has 9st 10lb to carry in testing ground on Saturday. That tempers enthusiasm for him.
Getting a pound from Presivs, Young Mick is always respected in these races although he doesn't often get the rub of the green. He did get his head in front at Leicester last time though and that will act as a nice confidence booster.
The Betchworth Kid has shown a liking for the course and comes into this if it becomes a slog while Irish raider Menwaal won the October Handicap at Naas for the second successive season. He is useful and Jamie Spencer takes the ride.
The feature race at Wincanton is the Badger Ales Trophy. Paul Nicholls has two runners with Ruby Walsh aboard Leading Attraction. He has only run in three chases so far and while he looks to have plenty of weight for what he has achived, he is open to improvement.
Stablemate Cornish Sett is a little bit quirky but was running a good race at this track last time before taking a tumble. Nick Scholfield takes off a valuable five pounds.
Eric's Charm is a solid horse at the top of the handicap but Butler's Cabin is hard to predict. More interesting is Tom George's Island Flyer at the bottom of the weights. He is three from three over fences and has to be feared in an open contest.
However my best bet for Saturday is Electrolyser at Doncaster.
