Crowded House just failed to bag a huge prize at Newmarket last time but he can make amends with victory in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.

One of three runners for trainer Brian Meehan, Crowded House is still pretty unexposed with just three runs to his credit so far.

His debut run did not mark him out as an obvious Classic candidate when well down the field in a Headquarters maiden but Meehan made no secret of the regard in which he holds the colt following his comfortable success at Kempton.

An easy victory over a solid yardstick in Custody prompted Meehan's team to raise their sights for the richly-endowed Tattersalls Timeform Million.

Crowded House raced prominently throughout and it was only in the last few yards that Donativum got on top and pulled half a length clear.

Meehan's charge looks to be learning with every run, though, and with this mile certain to suit, Crowded House could be a decent bet at a fair price.
