DOUBLE: Crowded House and Numide.
Crowded House just failed to bag a huge prize at Newmarket last time but he can make amends with victory in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.
One of three runners for trainer Brian Meehan, Crowded House is still pretty unexposed with just three runs to his credit so far.
His debut run did not mark him out as an obvious Classic candidate when well down the field in a Headquarters maiden but Meehan made no secret of the regard in which he holds the colt following his comfortable success at Kempton.
An easy victory over a solid yardstick in Custody prompted Meehan's team to raise their sights for the richly-endowed Tattersalls Timeform Million.
Crowded House raced prominently throughout and it was only in the last few yards that Donativum got on top and pulled half a length clear.
Meehan's charge looks to be learning with every run, though, and with this mile certain to suit, Crowded House could be a decent bet at a fair price.
Henry Candy can find the winner's enclosure again through Dark Mischief in the racingpost.com Stakes.
All the rage when winning on his debut at Windsor in June, the son of Namid has not been seen since - but fitness is not likely to be an issue and he appeals as one to follow.
John Gosden faces a big night with Raven's Pass lining up in the Breeders' Cup Classic but Brave Echo can give the yard an early boost in Newbury's Mountgrange Stud Stakes - better known as the Horris Hill.
This Oasis Dream colt has plenty of scope for next year and there was plenty to like about his recent victory over Emirates Roadshow at Leicester.
The pair pulled six lengths clear, with Brave Echo not pushed too hard for his three-quarter-length win.
He appeals as the type of horse to keep progressing.
The Gary Moore-trained Numide could just spring a surprise in the intercasino.co.uk St Simon Stakes.
A smart hurdler who slightly lost his way, Numide was fifth in the French Derby a couple of years ago and occupied the same position behind Macarthur at Chester on his first Flat run for his new trainer.
Probably not ready on his return after an absence at this course last month, Moore is likely to have him far better tuned-up here.
The jumps season continues to gather pace with a classy card at Aintree.
Once again Paul Nicholls will be difficult to stop and the champion trainer has been making positive noises about Tatenen, who will have a handy weight allowance in the intercasino.co.uk Molyneux Novices' Chase.
Nicholls' Cheltenham Festival fifth Rippling Ring will also take some stopping in the intercasino.co.uk Handicap Hurdle.
Gray Mountain is taken to make the huge leap to Grade Two class with victory in Chepstow's 0800 221 221 Persian War Novices' Hurdle.
Joe Caster can prove the star of the show at Wolverhampton in the ladbrokespoker.com Nursery Handicap.
