1. KINGMAN - St James's Palace Stakes

Kingman proved much too good for old rival Night Of Thunder with a scintillating display in the St James's Palace Stakes on the opening day of Royal Ascot. This performance will go some way to proving he's the outstanding miler of his generation.

2. THE WOW SIGNAL - Coventry Stakes

John Quinn's The Wow Signal justified his tall reputation in the Coventry Stakes with a comfortable one-and-three-quarter length win. It was Frankie Dettori's 49th winner at the Royal meeting and his mount earned 25/1 quotes for the 2000 Guineas.

3. SOLE POWER - King's Stand Stakes

Sole Power came from last to first to win the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot for the second straight year. Richard Hughes bided his time on the star sprinter, before unleashing his mount on the outside of the pack, utilising his blistering turn of foot.

4. ANTHEM ALEXANDER - Queen Mary Stakes

Anthem Alexander held on in a thrilling Queen Mary Stakes from Tiggy Wiggy and Newsletter after travelling powerfully throughout much of the contest under Pat Smullen, who was completing a quickfire double.

5. THE FUGUE - Prince of Wales's Stakes

The Fugue beats off the challenges of Breeder's Cup winner Magician and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Treve to land the Prince of Wales's Stakes in brilliant fashion. She's a possible runner in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown next month where she could lock horns with Derby winner Australia.

Joesph O'Brien comes of age in the Ascot Gold Cup with a brilliant ride aboard Leading Light who denies Estimate, Missunited and Brown Panther in a Royal Ascot thriller. It was a sixth Gold Cup for Aidan O'Brien who won the race four times with the great Yeats and once with Fame And Glory.

7. EAGLE TOP - King Edward VII Stakes

Eagle Top wins the award for improver of the week after graduating from defeat in a Leicester handicap to Group 2 winner at Royal Ascot in the King Edward VII Stakes. Watch him come from last to first, utilising a brilliant turn of foot under William Buick.

8. RIZEENA - Coronation Stakes

Rizeena proves her 1000 Guineas form was all wrong by bouncing back to form under Ryan Moore in the Coronation Stakes. Lesstalk In Paris finishes well but she can't quite reel in the Clive Brittain-trained filly.

9. TELESCOPE - Hardwicke Stakes

There would be no excuses for Telescope in the Hardwicke Stakes as he faced a mile-and-a-half on fast ground for the first time since his Great Voltigeur win. None were needed, though, as he romped home by seven lengths in the most dominant performance of the week.

10. SLADE POWER - Diamond Jubilee Stakes

Owner Sabena Power and trainer Eddie Lynam completed the remarkable feat of winning both of Royal Ascot's Group One sprints with two different horses, as Slade Power saw of Due Diligence and Aljamaaheer in another thriller. Roll on the rematch in the July Cup...
