Timeform: Treve can star
Treve has six pounds and more in hand on her rivals in Wednesday’s Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot, according to Timeform.
Unusually for a Group One, all of the field are arriving in Berkshire on the back of a defeat, but in Treve’s case it was a hugely admirable one, going down by just a short neck to compatriot Cirrus des Aigles in a thrilling Prix Ganay at Longchamp.
Timeform Chief Correspondent Jamie Lynch said: “Despite losing her unbeaten record, Treve’s reappearance should have served its purpose as a means to an end, and going toe to toe with Cirrus des Aigles at Longchamp will have set her up perfectly for her main objectives for the campaign, starting at Royal Ascot.”
However the Halifax-based firm warm the British party, headed byThe Fugue, Mukhadram and Dank, shouldn’t be underestimated.
Lynch added: “There are several proper Group One horses amongst the British contingent, and one edge they all have over Treve is experience of the track; Mukhadram and The Fugue finished second and third in this race last year, while Dank is already an Ascot winner.”
However despite their presence, Lynch believes Treve can produce a performance to justify her ranking as his firm’s highest-rated racehorse in the world.
“Treve is the glamour girl of world racing and the headline act of the whole week. Treve is an exceptional talent, reflected by her Timeform rating, and she has the ability to produce the sort of Royal Ascot performance that will be talked about for years to come,” he added.
