Now a 12-year-old, Sizing Europe has been victorious in 20 of his 40 races, amassing well over £1million in win and place prize-money.
He was no match for Sprinter Sacre at the Festival last March but closed the gap to just over five lengths at Punchestown in April - although Sprinter Sacre had also won at Aintree in between.
Henry de Bromhead's charge also holds an entry in the Ryanair Chase, but following Sprinter Sacre's defection the Queen Mother will once again be his target.
De Bromhead said: "Sizing Europe will go for the Champion Chase. With Sprinter Sacre being ruled out it definitely made the decision easier for us. He seems in good form at the moment, he seems great.
"Special Tiara will also go for the Champion Chase."
