Present View maintained his progress for the Jamie Snowden yard in the Rewards4Racing Handicap Chase at Kempton.
Present View and Flaming Gorge took turns to cut out the running through bright sunshine with the latter having the upper hand approaching the home straight.
By the final couple of fences, the 5-2 favourite was a long way clear and strolled home by 10 lengths from Ballinvarrig under Brendan Powell.
"He had to win today if we were going to think about the novices' handicap chase at Cheltenham and if he gets another 7lb he might sneak in at the bottom there," said Snowden.
Full Shift (5-2) was an easy winner of the Jockey Club Handicap Hurdle for AP McCoy, Nicky Henderson and JP McManus.
He proved too good for 40-1 outsider Songsmith who ran a cracking race on his return from an absence.
"We're thinking EBF Final at Sandown," said Henderson.
John Ferguson's Aqalim (2-1) narrowly preserved his unbeaten record with a nose success over Colin's Brother in the racinguk.com bumper.
Ferguson said: "We'll see how he is, he might be a horse for the Aintree bumper if he grows up. Otherwise we'll put him away as a novice hurdler for next year."
