One of the more unstable members of Charlie Longsdon's string, he won the handicap hurdle on this card 12 months ago but was beaten in two chase starts at a minor level.

After resisting the challenge of 100/30 favourite Urbain De Sivola, Loose Chips held on by a short head from the charging Ohio Gold.

"He has to live out in a barn with one other horse as he's quite mad and a manic box-walker," said Longsdon.
