Jeremy Noseda's four-year-old has already enjoyed great success across the Atlantic after claiming the Twilight Derby at Santa Anita and the Hollywood Turf Cup late last year.
He returned to British shores with a fair fourth in the Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting and showed the benefit of that outing when running hot favourite Mukhadram to three-quarters of a length in Saturday's York Stakes.
The Shalfleet handler told www.jeremynoseda.com: "Grandeur ran a lifetime best - it was a great performance.
"He was beaten only three-quarters by one of the best horses we've seen this season in England, giving him 3lb.
"Our plan was to use these two races as stepping-stones (to America) and we remain bang on course for the Arlington Million (August 17)."
Grandeur will not be the only British challenger in the Arlington Million, with Jane Chapple-Hyam's stable star Mull Of Killough also heading Stateside.
His owners Invictus Racing tweeted: "Mull Of Killough is being prepared for the Arlington Million in three weeks' time."
