Although the County Durham circuit is perfectly raceable, there is a possibility of a sharp overnight forecast.
The going is soft, good to soft in places.
Clerk of the course Phil Tuck said: "It's just to be on the safe side, really.
"We are forecast slightly minus temperatures overnight and that's why we'll have a look at 8.30am.
"I think we'll be all right, there's no frost in the ground at the moment and that's why it's precautionary.
"We'll take a light frost and it's due to get up to 3C or 4C tomorrow although it may feel colder in the wind."
