Clerk of the course Sulekha Varma reports the track to be raceable at present but is planning to check conditions in light of a cold overnight forecast.

She said: "There's no frost this morning which is helpful as it means the soil temperatures have not dropped too much this morning.

"Overnight we are looking at a -2C air temperature, but there's a very cold wind coming in which could give a wind chill of -4C or -5C.

"We will have a look in the morning and see what the situation is. We've put down frost covers on the take-offs, landings and the areas where we know the temperature drops lower.

Ayr will also be holding an inspection at the same time, ahead of their card on Thursday.

Officials at the Scottish venue must assess conditions a second time following an initial inspection on Wednesday afternoon.

The going is soft, but overnight temperatures could to drop to minus 3C.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley said: "Temperatures have risen to 6C this afternoon and the course is currently raceable.

"We're going to have another look in the morning as we are forecast further sub-zero temperatures tonight. We could get anything between minus 1C and minus 3C.

"It's due to be a cold day tomorrow, with temperatures rising to 4C, but as the course is raceable now, I'm optimistic."
