Silver By Nature has been handed top weight ahead of his possible tilt at the Haydock Park Grand National Trial.

Silver By Nature: Heads Haydock weights

Lucinda Russell's 11-year-old has not been seen on the racecourse since finishing down the field in the 2011 Grand National, but the grey could be set to return in a bid to land his third Haydock National trial, having won the race in 2010 and 2011.

Giles Cross took the scalp of subsequent Grand National winner, Neptune Collonges, in last year's renewal and Victor Dartnall's veteran will aim to get back to winning ways having failed to complete in the Grand National and the Welsh National in his next two starts.

Monbeg Dude and Teaforthree, first and second in the Chepstow showpiece, have stood their ground along with third placed, Triggerman.

Among the high profile absentees at Monday's declaration stage was the Venetia Williams trained, Katenko. The Herefordshire trainer could be represented by

Rigadin de Beauchene.

The eight-year-old was an impressive winner of the Betfred Classic Chase at Warwick and is very much proven with give underfoot.

Donald McCain has omitted Ballabriggs at the five-day stage and he could rely on Across The Bay and Lively Baron.

Tommy Whittle Chase winner, Cannington Brook, could return to Merseyside over this longer trip, while Evan Williams has entered Cappa Bleu, although he also holds engagements elsewhere.

Aurora's Encore, Rose Of The Moon, Lackamon, Neptune Equester, Viking Blond, Well Refreshed, Trigger The Light and Mac Aeda complete the 18 entries to stand their ground.
