John Gosden's Lahaag has been installed as 8/1 favourite with the sponsors after 91 horses were entered for the William Hill Lincoln at Doncaster.

Brae Hill: Could head back to Doncaster to defend title

Stablemate Trade Commissioner is another prominent in the betting along with William Haggas' Nine Realms and the Dermot Weld-trained Tandem.

Richard Fahey won the race for the first time last year with Brae Hill and he forms part of a strong Musley Bank team again. Others include Garde Cotiere, Extraterrestrial, Hi There, Justonefortheroad and Majestic Myles.

Sweet Lightning and Penitent are other previous winners to be engaged this time around.

However trainer David O'Meara said Penitent's entry in the Lincoln was "only speculative".

"He's doing really well," said the North Yorkshire handler. "He's had a good break and we are very happy with him. We've put him in the Lincoln, but it's only speculative at this stage as there's a long way to go."

Jennie Prest, sponsorship manager for William Hill said; "This year's William Hill Lincoln field has a good mix of up-and-coming, lightly-raced contenders and some popular milers who are proven performers on the course and as always it will be a competitive and exciting start to the Flat season."

The two-day Lincoln meeting at Doncaster Racecourse is this year run on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd March, with the William Hill Lincoln and it's consolation race the William Hill Spring Mile the feature races on the Saturday card.
